Football

The P7 football team plays friendly matches against other schools as well as competing in the N.I Cup, the Cyril Murray Cup and the 5-a-side competition. Football training is on Wednesday afternoons after school. The P6 team also play in the Under-10 cup. Information about training and matches for the 2011/2012 season will be on the website from September.

Cross Country

Congratulations to the 16 boys and girls who took part in the Cross Country competition last Thursday. All the children did their best to run the 1km as fast as possible, despite the muddy and wet conditions! The girls’ team finished in 1^st place ahead of 7 other schools.

Rugby

Mini-rugby starts after February half-term. Training takes place on Wednesday afternoons and the school compete in tournaments (“blitzes”) in April and May.

Kwik Cricket

Kwik Cricket club commences after Easter and a team of boys and girls compete in a festival which is held in June.

Hockey

Well done to all the children from P6 and P7 who attended the hockey trial at Shaws Bridge last Friday. 35 children (20 boys and 15 girls) worked on their basic skills and then played some mini hockey matches. The first tournament for girls is on Friday 9^th December and the first boys’ tournament takes place on Tuesday 13^th December. Children who have been selected to play will be given more information closer to the time.
