Welcome! In Primary One we have two teachers and two classroom assistants:

Mrs Kane  in room 3 with Mrs Hughes;

Mrs Hill in room 4 with Mrs Bickerstaff.

We have an exciting time in our classrooms. We have lots of new toys to play with and great interactive boards for to work and have fun on.

We would encourage parents to line their children up at the middle entrance at 8:50am when they hear the bell ring. We hope that gradually parents will encourage their children to come into school independently.

Homeworks will go home on Monday and should be returned by Friday, signed by the parents/guardians. Reading records should also be signed when you have read the book.

Notes will be sent home each Tuesday in a plastic note bag. This bag must be returned to school the following day.

We have Assembly on Tuesday and Thursday morning at 9 o’clock.

We try to encourage the children to bring a healthy break each day but Tuesday and Thursday are our healthy break days, so if you feel you must send a chocolate biscuit, we would appreciate you avoiding these two days .

P.E. days:

Mrs Kane –  Wednesday and alternate Fridays for apparatus ;

Mrs Hill – Wednesday and alternate Fridays for apparatus.

For PE you need a pair of black gym shoes and a PE bag to keep them in. Try not to wear shoes with laces on these days as you will be encouraged to try and manage changing your shoes by yourself.
